National Ice Cream Month

Besides Fireworks and celebrating our Independence Day, July is also National Ice Cream Month. What better excuse do you need to eat ice cream? How about a family activity of making ice cream at home?

What You Need:

1 Cup Milk
1.5 TBLS Sugar
1/2 TSP Vanilla Extract
3 Cups Ice
1/3 Cup Salt
Quart Ziplock Bag
Gallon Ziplock Bag

What To Do:

Combine the milk, vanilla extract, and sugar into the quart bag.

Mix Ice and salt in the gallon bag.

Place the sealed quart-sized bag into the gallon-sized bag, and then seal it.

Shake the bag for about 5 minutes.

The milk is now hardened. Let sit with the ice surrounding the quart-sized bag for a few minutes.

Your ice cream is now ready to be scooped and enjoyed immediately.
