Campsite Essentials To Get You Started

Don’t look now, but it’s August already! Your days to take advantage of the great summer weather may be lessening, but that only makes enjoying those last days all the sweeter. Essentials For Your Next Camp:

    • A first aid kit is a must!
    • Headlamps, lanterns, flashlights, and extra batteries for them.
    • Matches, lighter, or firestarters.
    • Extra cords or straps in case your tent has a malfunction.
    • Bug spray or other deterrent. And lots of it.
    • A machete or other cutting tool to help clear away brush from a perfect camping site.
    • A multi-tool.
    • Clean bottled drinking water.
    • Snacks, or a portable griddle if you plan on cooking meals in the woods. Also, utensils to eat with.
    • Insulated tumblers or mugs for drinking.
    • Proper moisture-wicking clothing to keep you comfortable.
    • Extra changes of clothes, underwear and socks, just in case!
    • Sunscreen, sunglasses, lip balm, and other products that protect against overexposure to the sun.

 

Optional Items:

    • Your own cut and dried firewood, if you want!
    • Folding chairs to place around the campfire.
    • A portable table to eat on.
    • Camp forks to roast marshmallows and wienies on!
    • Solar power bank or a generator if you need electricity
    • Games to play at night once you turn in.
